Hillel Broder is a high school teacher of English and Judaics at SAR High School in Riverdale, NY. Before SAR, he taught in various secondary and post-secondary settings, including Yeshiva University High School for Boys and Fordham University.  He has published scholarly articles on modernist aesthetics, experiments in narrative and memory, and modernist and contemporary literature; he has published original poetry in various print and online journals; and he has written articles on and taught prayer education in a variety of settings. He holds a PhD from the CUNY Graduate Center, an MA and MPhil from CUNY, and a BA from Yeshiva University, all in English. Currently, he is pursuing rabbinic ordination. At SAR, he is a proud co-founder of the Yeshiva Poetry Society and coach of the performance poetry team. Besides for his teaching responsibilities, he leads a meditation tefila and serves as the freshman grade-level coordinator.
